Michael Jackson 1958 – 2009

<br />

On Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 5:26 p.m. Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 and with his passing took the heart of popular music and a piece of my childhood. Jackson was brought into the UCLA Medical Center under cardiac arrest from his home where physicians tried for over an hour to resuscitate him, according to his brother Jermaine Jackson.

As I layed down to sleep, I wished and prayed that it was all a dream–and woke to a reality that cuts like a knife. MJ has been an intergral part of my childhood since I can remember–if music is the soundtrack of life, Michael Jackson composed the score to mines.

I can’t even find words to express how blessed we all were to have witnessed first hand the magic that Michael Jackson brought to this world–he will be missed.

The blogosphere is buzzing with MJ news and memories–and since I honestly feeling like if I type anymore I’ll short circuit my laptop with tears–here are my favorite blogs take on the lost of the King of Pop:

    Fifty is just so young to be dead. So young. I’m glad we at least have his music and performances with us. His contributions to music will live on forever.
