On Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 5:26 p.m. Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 and with his passing took the heart of popular music and a piece of my childhood. Jackson was brought into the UCLA Medical Center under cardiac arrest from his home where physicians tried for over an hour to resuscitate him, according to his brother Jermaine Jackson.
As I layed down to sleep, I wished and prayed that it was all a dream–and woke to a reality that cuts like a knife. MJ has been an intergral part of my childhood since I can remember–if music is the soundtrack of life, Michael Jackson composed the score to mines.
I can’t even find words to express how blessed we all were to have witnessed first hand the magic that Michael Jackson brought to this world–he will be missed.
