Jada Pinkett Smith: Keeping It Fit and Tight
Jada Pinkett-Smith is in this month’s Shape magazine offering up her wisdom pearls on how she keeps her body in perfect shape and her relationship tight; and one of those tips is doing daily kegels or pelvic muscle strengthening exercises.
I’m a firm believer that kegels do work, if done consistently–if you’ve never done a kegel in your life–now may be the time to start. Not only do they help strengthen the pelvic muscles, in turn helping to improve urethral and rectal functioning, but it is an awesome little trick to pull out the bag during a marathon love making session with your partner.
Start by emptying your bladder; tighten and hold your lower pelvic muscles for a full 10 count. Release for a full 10 count and then repeat. Try to do at least 5 sets and up to 10–3 times a day! If you can do that you should see results in about 4 to 6 weeks.
Also, don’t try and overdo it! Trying to do too many kegels could result in muscle fatigue–which is the opposite of what you want to happen.

I totally agree that Kegels are essential for good bladder control and great sex, but you have to do them properly. That means squeezing against something like a pelvic toner and NOT thin air. Have a look at http://www.betterkegelexercises.com to see what I mean
