What To Wear: Meeting The Parents

Tara Nov. 23.2009 8:19am

It’s that time of year again! You finally left the nest to venture out of state for school, and while your homesick tendencies made the calls to the home-front more frequent, you sort of fell off. You finally gave the guy in your Advertising Management class a shot, and now he wants to take you home to meet his parents for Thanksgiving. So, of course the first question that will come to mind is: “what do I wear?” Just inhale, exhale, I got you!

Delicious Giveaway: What’s Your Favorite Holiday Memory?

Jeniece Oct. 19.2009 9:39am
<br />

The holidays are just around the corner and that means most of us will be with our families sharing old memories and making new ones. It also means that we delicious girls will probably be getting busy in the kitchen on some of our favorite holiday dishes…I know this year, I’m going to try my hand at a pumpkin pecan cheese cake–yes I am. With that in mind, we’ve decided to give away, one of our ultimate Get ‘Em Girl essentials, a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in Majestic Yellow ($349). We can’t live without our KitchenAid…and if you win it, you will understand why.

But, that’s not it! The makers of Beater Blade, have decided to join in on the holiday fun and we are giving one away with the mixer. Beater Blade is the perfect replacement blade that scrapes the sides of the mixing bowl while it beats.

So, here’s how to enter: You have until October 31, 2009 to submit your favorite holiday story. You can submit the story via e-mail to giveaway{at}getemgirls{dot}com. Each person is allowed one story…so make it a good one; however, if you post the story in the comments and e-mail it, you’ll be entered twice. And…if you throw in a family recipe to go along with your story we’ll enter you in again…tripling your chances!

We will randomly select 5 stories using Random.org, at 12:00 a.m. est November 1st and from there we will post the stories on the site–opening it up for the readers to vote! So, once you’ve been picked, make sure to have all your friends and family (or anyone looking for a plate during the holidays) to vote for you! The story with the most votes on November 15th will win the KitchenAid Stand Mixer and Beater Blade! Simple right?

To kick it off…here’s my own favorite holiday story:
